The first camp, founded in 1922 a school for children. He used a terrain used by his meditation pari in Santiniketan. It was around this core that the university later developed. Already in 1888 existed in the place a Brahmavidyalaya and a library. Rabindranath School, Brahmacharyasrama, began operating in 1901 with five students and in 1925 takes its name from Patha-Bhavana. In this school the national idea of India against British colonialism was cultivated. There is a continuity between the projects of Rabindranath and his father, who was a reformer of teaching.
Rabindranath’s project initially sought to realize the values of ancient India education. The school moved away from the colonial model, cultivating simplicity, with open-air, shady outdoor classes where man and nature entered into an immediate harmonious relationship. Teachers and students shared an integral sociocultural life. The curriculum had music, painting, dramatic performances, and other performative practices. The principle was to develop to reinvigorate the manifold faculties of the human personality.
The Institute of Rural Reconstruction was founded in 1922 in Surul, at a distance of about three kilometers from Santiniketan. It was formally inaugurated on February 6, 1922, with Leonard Elmhirst as its first director. Thus, Visva-Bharati’s second adjoining campus came to be located in 1923, in a place that took on the name of Sriniketan. The main goal was to help residents and people solve their own problems rather than a solution being imposed on them from outside. The aim was to create a new type of school aimed primarily at children from neighboring villages who would eventually bring their acquired knowledge to the welfare of the village community.

“Whatever fate is reserved in judging the future for my poems, my stories, and my plays, I know for sure that Bengali CULTURE must accept my songs, everyone should sing my songs in every Bengali house, in the fields, and with the rivers… .I feel as if the music sprang into some unconscious depth of my mind, so it has a certain perfection. “_ Rabindranath
