Work Base

Create a network program that links civil society institutions in different countries to promote the dissemination of relevant knowledge through Community Popular Universities, with the aim of strengthening communities’ capacity to use their social memory to create resilience and sustainability through collaborative works guided by the founding principles of the United Nations Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization.

That UNESCO is involved in the Promotion:

  • From the Agenda 2030 – Sustainable Development Objectives, UN
  • The 2030 Education Strategy (Declaration of Inchuam and Framework for Action, towards inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong education for all) 2015
  • Of the Paris Agreements on Climate Change, 2015
  • From the Urban Agenda URBAN III – Third United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development (UN-HABITAT), 2016
  • From the Declaration of Science for a Culture of Peace, UNESCO, 2017

As well as the Conventions and Recommendations that place culture as an instrument of sustainable development, namely:

That they encourage the sharing of resources and the building of partnerships that allow us to face the challenges of sustainable development in our societies

The MED  Museum of Global Education and Cultural Diversity aims to place culture at the center of development policies in building a world based on economies of well-being, just societies and a sustainable environment;

That the MED – Museum Global Education and Cultural Diversity intends to develop and integrate training actions, develop relevant scientific research and promote university extension actions on issues of Gender Equality, Decent Work; Inclusive Sustainable Cities and Transparent Governance and Partnership in the context of Education for Peace and Global Citizenship;

That MED intends to work in partnership with civil society organizations, local associations and other organizations in the Portuguese-speaking world in all contexts that allow bridges to be built and connect people

Letter of Principles:

  • Collaborative model. The chair advocates participatory processes and co-creation;
  • The chair is assmed as a project that seeks the principle of integral sustainability of the action processes, assuming itself as a self-funded community;
  • Acceptance of plurality: The processes of action are governed by the ethical principles of acceptance of difference, plurality of looks, and integration of different worldviews;
  • Flexibility. The processes of action are flexible and adjust to the procedural dynamics;
  • Solidarity of co creation. Local processes are developed by local partners and their results are shared across the network.
